Empowerment Coach Jillian Arena of Intuitive Balance Coaching Gives us her tip of the day: When we get involved in conversations with our loved ones, we can have moments where we might not be hearing each other correctly. That can lead to arguments or miscommunications. A great way to avoid that happening is an exercise called echo back. When your partner, friend, or whoever you’re in conflict with says something that triggers something in you. Instead of following that trigger- can you stop? Take a deep breath and echo back “When you say this, I’m hearing XYZ” and give that person an opportunity to clarify what they actually meant so that there’s no miscommunication and you can move forward without any further conflict.
